Fairly high on our list of needed house items is a new bed so we can move the one we have into a guest bedroom* and visitors no longer have to choose between our sectional and an aerobed.
The more I browse the sadder I get, so I turn to you, internet…
Where might one look for upholstered headboards that do not cost $Firstborn?

  2. truebluelist said: I made my own fabric covered headboard. Lowes even cut the wood for me. I think with fabric, trim, and padding it cost about $100.
  3. cptnjac said: If you are at all interested in crafts, there are plenty of DIY headboards on the Internet that can literally be done in a day
  4. antistatic said: Just make your own! Plywood from the hardware store, have them cut it for you. Foam from your local craft store. Hot Glue gun. Fabric. Staple gun. Voila.
  5. excellenceasahabit said: Check wayfair.com and world market. I have seen some at home goods before too.
  6. dorothypzbornak said: I am in the same boat. My fiancee’s current roommate has an actual nice looking one from Target and she says it’s good quality. Other than that I’ve got nothing. The Pottery B ones are nice if you don’t also like food and clothes
  7. phillyfilly said: get thee to the pottery barn outlet in leesburg! my rooommate got the most beautiful tufted linen headboard [just board, no bed] for under $200.
  8. clarajudgypants said: Mine came from West Elm on sale several years ago and wasn’t a fortune.
  9. elyseindc said: I’ve seen some fairly nice ones on target.com - but I have no idea what they are like IRL
  10. maryfreakingsunshine said: Pinterest can show you how to make really cute ones for cheap….time consuming but worth it!
  11. meredithbklyn said: also tried to find a less pricey one when i moved, was not successful

  15. theworkinprogressblog said: how much is too much? home decorators has them in the $200 range.
  16. missydotey said: I’d check out wayfair formerly csn stores). I’ve ordered a few pieces of furniture from them and it’s worked out well. I’m sure you already thought of overstock. Ballard designs maybe?

  22. anniehinton said: I don’t think you should DIY it but you could post on craigslist and see if someone will make it for the price you can afford.
  23. iamtallandawesome said: we went without because they were so damn expensive. one cousin made her own and it looks awesome if you have skillz. another friend got an awesome one from craigslist.
