…Is he really without teeth? Poor Spike.
Spike has no teeth?
It’s true! Well, mostly - he has a couple itty bitty guys left on the bottom.
When Spike still lived at my parents’ house, he got into it with my stepmother’s cat and she slapped him in the face, knocking one of his teeth out. Needless to say, it was not a healthy tooth. A vet visit later and they recommended removing most of them, so we did. Apparently it’s a common procedure for a common problem, since cats don’t love it when you try to brush their teeth.
Don’t feel too sorry for the guy, he’s been much happier since, with much better breath. He still manages to put away an amazing amount of food, both wet and dry (not sure how it happens either).
